Preservation Network - Renovation Mortgages 101 with Jeff Talman

This Old House Financing – Renovation Mortgages 101.

Knox Heritage presents the next installment of the monthly series Preservation Network on Saturday, August 13th at 10:00 a.m. Preservation Network is held at Historic Westwood, 3425 Kingston Pike. Parking is at Laurel Church of Christ, 3457 Kingston Pike. It is free and open to the public.

The August Preservation Network features Jeff Talman, Sales Manager with Prospect Mortgage. Talman will discuss different renovation mortgages for historic homes.

Talman is a mortgage banker and community champion who since 1985 has been an enthusiastic and advocate for the revitalization of Knoxville’s urban neighborhoods. Talman’s affection for these neighborhoods and the housing stock therein, combined with the void in the marketplace of mortgage bankers and mortgage products, motivated him to pursue this niche of lending. Since 2002 he has financed renovations on hundreds of older homes, many historic, many needing complete renovation, and many un-financible otherwise. Preservation Network is a series of free workshops held once every month on the second Saturday. The monthly workshops feature guest speakers who are specialists in windows, flooring, roofing, stained glass, tile, plumbing, electrical, and more. Other guest speakers have included experts in real estate sales and appraisals, and city codes and zoning officials who discuss historic overlays and building requirements.

Knox Heritage preserves, restores and transforms historic places. For everyone. Forever. The nonprofit organization was founded in 1974 and now serves the entire 16-county Knoxville region. For more information visit
