Nothing says “Tennessee summer” like a lazy day floating down the river. Join us for a unique experience along our beautiful French Broad River from Seven Islands State Birding Park to Huffaker Ferry. As we drift past blue herons and egrets over the shimmering shoals, you’ll understand why it’s so important to preserve the rural nature of this majestic and historic river. Along the way, you’ll see some of the most intact architectural examples of early Knox County, including a mill, churches, homes built using the technique of noggin construction, a cantilevered barn, log homes, early cemeteries, and ferry landings. Professional raft guides from Smoky Mountain Outdoors will escort us on our adventure. We’ll stop along the way to allow for a refreshing dip in the water, so dress accordingly. The day will be capped off with a scrumptious Low Country Boil, craft beer, wine, and lawn games. Sponsored by Smoky Mountain Rafting.
