Join us for a Saturday supper celebration in the historic Burlington neighborhood. Established in 1917, this neighborhood is in the process of revitalizing its retail corridor. Begin with a signature cocktail inspired by the legendary racetrack and saloon owner Cal Johnson, Cal’s Speedway Sipper, served on the lawn of the Knaffl house – once home to American art and portrait photographer Joseph Knaffl. Walk across historic Speedway Circle where Cal built a horse racetrack and where the first plane to travel to Knoxville is said to have landed in 1911. Tour the UT School of Architecture student design work of studies of the neighborhood displayed next door. Finish with a delicious dinner in the recently renovated historic retail space that will transport you back to Cal’s Speakeasy on the corner of Gay Street & Wall Avenue in 1879.
