A glimpse behind the serpentine wall along Kingston Pike reveals four homes that have been built on one family’s 12-acre parcel of land, dating back 130 years. Westwood, the crown jewel and one of the finest examples of Victorian architecture in Knoxville, was built by John and Adelia Lutz in 1890. Sitting beside it is the beautiful brick Georgian house, built by their son Ned, featuring the original French Zuber wallpaper and filled with stunning antiques and paintings. Coyly tucked away, out of sight from passing motorists, are two other family homes waiting to be discovered. Enjoy a progressive Sunday supper visiting all four homes for a delectable feast inspired by the meals of the family’s longtime, beloved cook, Sallie Sneed. As we take you back in time, Lutz family descendants will be on hand to regale you with tales of John and Adelia, Aunt Cecil, Grandma, and Dede.
